Getting the Most Out of Your Artificial Flowers

<strong>About</strong>

About

Our artificial flowers are carefully packaged to protect them during transit. As with all artificial florals, some flower heads, petals and foliage may become slightly compressed during transportation. Follow these simple tips to help your flowers look their very best.

<strong>Packaging</strong>

Packaging

Remove your flowers from all packaging as soon as possible and allow them to air out for approximately 24 hours. Many flowers will naturally begin to open up and regain their shape during this time.

<strong>Use Gentle Heat</strong>

Use Gentle Heat

A hairdryer on a warm (not hot) setting can help encourage flower heads and petals to open up. Hold the hairdryer at a safe distance and gently warm the flowers while shaping them.

<strong>Adjust & Shape</strong>

Adjust & Shape

Use your fingers to carefully reshape flower heads, petals and leaves. A little gentle manipulation can make a big difference to the overall appearance of your flowers.

<strong>Clean Before Use</strong>

Clean Before Use

One of our favourite methods is to gently wash artificial flowers in warm soapy water and leave them to dry naturally on a dish drainer or drying rack. Not only does this help provide extra cleanliness for cake decorating, but it also allows the flowers to relax, open up and look even more realistic.

<strong>Remove Excess Glue</strong>

Remove Excess Glue

As with many handmade artificial flowers, you may occasionally notice small amounts of excess glue around flower heads, petals or foliage. This is perfectly normal and is simply a result of the manufacturing process.

Any visible excess glue can usually be gently peeled away by hand or carefully trimmed with a pair of scissors. Taking a few moments to tidy your flowers before use can help them look even more realistic and professional.

<strong>Trim & Tidy</strong>

Occasionally, you may notice a slight frayed edge on a petal or leaf. These can be easily trimmed and tidied using a small pair of sharp scissors.

<strong>A Final Note</strong>

A Final Note

Artificial flowers are handmade and can vary slightly in shape and appearance. Spending a few minutes reshaping and preparing them before use will help you achieve the most beautiful results for your cakes and bakes.

Please note: Artificial flowers are intended for decorative use only and are not edible. Always ensure they are removed before cutting and serving your cakes.
